Lacy Goodness
My yarn I ordered from elann.com arrived last Saturday. So I got started right away on the Lacy Kerchief Scarf from Interweave Knits (scroll down). I have been cruising along pretty good-
It is measuring 43 inches long. I am almost done increasing. So I should be past half way by tonight. My gauge is off a little, but I didn't worry since it is a wrap. I am getting 22 stitches to 4" instead of the 20. And my row gauge is way off! No biggy! The yarn is sonata in grey slate. I am calling it pewter. The second picture is the best representation of the color. This is my first chart reading! I am loving it! It took some getting used to, but now easy as pie. I am using a lifeline at every couple pattern repeats. I have had to use it once. I was glad I had used it. I will just say that I think lace knitting is fun and a challenge, but it does not pair well with a 4 year old and a 2 1/2 year old! Also, this has gotten to the point where it is not portable. So it stays by my chair and I pull it out when I know I have at least ten minutes. Or when Hubby is home, so there is someone else to jump to attention with the next crash/ fall/ scream/ cry. I will say this- My life is not dull!
Also, Hubby has a few swifts in stock at etsy. What are you waiting for, go get one! krebsbach4.etsy.com Free shipping!
Also, just a little tease. Next month is my one year blogiversary. Keep an eye open, there will be a prize or two!

A Pair & a Spare
So. I have a couple of FO's I can show you. Here is my pair of twisted rib socks-
These really didn't take to long to finish. Probably the fastest pair I have made so far. I think the second one was only 5 days. Anyway, it is Knit Picks Sock Memories in Fly Fishing. It was worked on my new Knit Picks Needles in size 3 circulars. I do like this yarn, it is nice and thick. And I LOVE the Knit Picks circulars! The pointy tips were great for the twisted rib pattern!
On the twisted rib pattern, I did the twist every third row instead of every second row. I like the way it turned out. Aunt Marilyn- you should try this one! We have not had any sun lately, so the pictures suck! Sorry!
And then we have the spare. Ok, it is really just the first one of a pair.
This is the yarn (Cherry Blossom Fibers in My Favorite Things) my SIL and Brother got me. I am knitting the pattern Aran Braid Socks. It is on size 3 Knit Picks Options. Oops! I thought I had my 2's! I knit really tight! So I think my 2's would have been perfect. Instead, it is OK. I figured out I have the wrong size needles when I was getting ready to knit the heel flap! So I said screw it, and kept going. Very minor boo boo in my eyes. Also, I chose not to do the cable onto the foot. Why? Don't now, except that I am knitting and I get to decide! I am "The Decider"! Ha! Ha!
Next in line, I cast on for the Braid mate. And I ordered the yarn for The Lacy Kerchief Scarf from the holiday issue of Interweave Knits. Scroll down to bottom. I ordered the grey slate, by the way.
Otherwise, I hope to have something to show off tomorrow. Stay tuned....

Where have I been?
I have been here, just very busy! And I thought things would slow down after the holidays! Hubby made a swift for SIL for Christmas. You know this. He took it in to The Yarn Shoppe to see what the owner thought- she loved it! So last Saturday we delivered 4 to her to sell! Exciting!! So we have been busy making those and the storage bags for them. Wanna see?-
All bagged up and ready to go. Saturday while we were at The Yarn Shoppe, we sold one! Then Laurel called yesterday to say we sold another! Not bad, they have been there two days and we have sold two. So right away, Hubby set to work on making more. He has six that should be ready to be delivered to The Yarn Shoppe Friday or Saturday. So I have had to try to whip a some storage bags for them. I am not a seamstress. But I think that I am doing OK. One big problem though. This is severely cutting into my knitting time! So I cut out enough fabric for 29 last night. I just got done ironing them. So I guess I will be sewing today, not knitting. But then I won't have to sew any for awhile. We hope to list a few for sale at Etsy.com once we get caught up at The Yarn Shoppe. So keep your eyes open for that if you want one. You could always call The Yarn Shoppe and have her ship one to you. Just saying.
I do have a few FO's. Mitts I made for Hubby-
He wears these on the dock, when he is working the scanner. They are a generic pattern I adapted for him. They are from Bernat DenimStyle. Washable and durable. I didn't mind working with this yarn. It will serve its purpose.
I finished a Clapotis. I gave it to Mom, and she choose to wear it curly as a scarf-
It is from Ejido 160 from www.handpaintedyarn.com . It is beautiful!
I am trying to finish my Twisted Rib Socks, made with Memories from Knit Picks-
I want to finish these socks this week. So I can start a pair of socks with the yummy yarn my brother and SIL gave me!
Back to the swifts! More update this weekend! Have a good one!
