to a screeching halt!!! Why?

I have the ugliest infected finger! And even something as light and little as yarn, dragging across it hurts so bad! So, no knitting. What the hell do people who don't knit do with their time?? I have to figure this out. I even have an FO to show off, but I can't get past the finger! It making typing tough also!
So a teaser of my FO until I am up to it.

I know. I have been absent. School is done. Next year, I will have a Kindergartener! Eeek! And Baby Boy will be in the Pre-K 4 year old program! I never pictured this part of my life when I pictured myself with children. Not sure why. But this is a whole new world as they get older. Anyway, Big Boy has started T-ball practices. We hope we can make it through the whole season this year! Remember last year? No broken bones has been our motto for this year. We will see...

I got a wonderful package from my Monkey Sock Swap 4 Pal, Angela! Thanks again Angela! Here is the loot-

There was some fabulous stuff in there! And the socks fit great! They are made with Shibui Knits in what I think is the Pagoda color. I LOVE THEM! I have a thing for orange right now, not sure why.

In other news, I have started my first adult sized sweater! Yeah me! And it is for me! I had some sort of wild hair on 5/23. Swatch, swatch, swatch and off I went! I am doing Mr. Greenjeans in Cascade 220, color 9435, that I had stashed for this sweater last year!!!! I am 3 inches from having the body done! Then the sleeves left. I am feeling this knit! Here is the one issue I am concerned with. I bought the yarn and worked out the details for this sweater a while ago. Hence the title, -25. I have lost 25 pounds!!! And still going!!! So it was a little big on top, but I think it will work!! I want it to nip in at the waist and so far so good!!! Here is a progress shot-

I am already planning my next one!!! I think it will be a summer top next. And Hubby wants a sweater, and has picked out The Brick Pullover. And the Boys have asked too! I think they will get sweater vests. They even put in color requests! Orange and red for Big Boy! And purple and red for Baby Boy! I am not going to argue with them!!

A few more FO's next time, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later!

It's Been A Good Birthday!

Even though I had to work, overall, it was a good birthday! My Boys woke me up by yelling surprise! Happy Birthday! My Mom took Baby Boy and I out for a birthday breakfast. Yummy! Then off to work, but only for a couple of hours! I came home and there were presents from The Boys and Hubby. Then Hubby cooked- well, he ordered Chinese! I didn't care though, as long as I didn't have to cook. Then off on a walk with BF, to try to walk of breakfast and chinese. When I got back home, there was ice cream cake!

I really should be out walking again to work that off! So, that all adds up to a good day! Too bad I have to open the coffee house at 5:30 in the morning! At least on Saturday mornings I can usually squeeze in some knitting time.

Yarn goodness! And an electric fondue pot! Apparently, Baby Boy told Hubby that he wanted to get me purple yarn for my birthday. What can I say, the kid knows me well! Big Boy picked out some pretty Austermann Step in red and black, Baby Boy picked out some Cascade Fixation in purple and the other skeins were from a ravelry trade that came today. So, even though that I had to get a year older, it was made easier by family and fiber!

I have been knitting too!

These are Beatrix Socks knit in Twisted Hare Fiber Arts. They perfect for my new pair of clogs.

I have a few socks in progress and a secret project that I can't show yet. I only have time for socks right now. But I will have time in a month or two for something else. We will have a busy few months now! Big Boy started soccer and will be playing tee ball again. We have a few trips coming up. I can't wait for summer!

Spring Fling Swap '08

I know I have been absent, but life has still been moving here. I have been knitting. And I have also been adding to the stash!

I am going to The Loopy Ewe Spring Fling. Actually, Hubby and I are going! He isn't actually going for the knitting content, although I have had a good time teasing him about attending a knitting retreat! But the chance at a few nights without the kids in a nice hotel, thats not hard to say yes to. I can't wait! Cookie A. and Wendy will be there teaching classes. I am hoping to take both classes. Anyway, there was a Spring Fling Swap organized over on ravelry. My wonderful swap pal was Darthknitter. She is awesome! Here is a shot at my "loot"-

She sent a yummy little package. The most exciting, a skein of Tess in a yummy grape color. A Della Q project bag. Some beads and beading accessories. Notebook and cards. And some yummies, cadbury caramel eggs, dark chocolate bar, and peeps. I have a hubby who loves Peeps way to much! Notice they aren't in the picture- he ate them already! So Tammy, thanks bunches and I can't wait to meet you in person at The Fling!

I finished a sock today, but i will wait to show that. That makes 5 single socks waiting for mates! OOps! I also won a blog contest, but will wait to show that until next time, it deserves its own moment in the spotlight.

CNN has been tuned in at my house most of the day (except for a few hours of morning cartoons). I took Big Boy with me to vote. He got an "I voted" sticker too, so was thrilled with his voting experience! So, I have just two words for you people in the Super Tuesday Primary states-
